Crash.

Everything changes.


Yesterday at 1:30 p.m. I was involved in a car accident.
I was traveling south on mesaba when a car failed to yield to a stop sign. He was traveling west on 4th street. I saw him immediately when he pulled out into my lane. I slammed on my brakes and swerved to the right, trying to avoid hitting him. I hit him on my left side, damaging my left front light/bumper/tire. Also I damaged my rear left tire (no i didn't get flats), and above the tire is a big dent in my car. The left side of my rear bumper was cracked as well.
After I hit that car a friend of mine who was driving behind us tried to swerve to avoid hitting my car but he scraped my bumper (hardly any damage to his car, just a scratch). Luckily I was driving with 3 of my friends.
As soon as i got out of my car i broke down into tears. My car is in the shop, and is going to take 1 week and a half to fix.
The drive that I first hit did NOT have a drivers license or insurance on his car.
The second driver did not have a valid drivers license (he forgot to renew it).
The first driver was issued with 3 tickets.
THe second driver was not.
Both drivers were able to get a licensed parent there within ten minutes so neither of their cars were impounded.

At the moment I am driving a loner car from the auto shop. It's a 98' dodge neon (green). Quite a step down from my 2004 subaru legacy. This car doesn't have power locks, power seats, power windows, no cd player, no tape deck, no cruise control....aka it's shitty...but i'm not complaining it's wheels.

INJUIRIES:

My friend amanda who was sitting in the front passenger seat went to the hospital yesterday a few hours after the accident, complaining of neck and chest pain. She was perscribed some pain meds.

Today after the accident I can hardly move my neck, but my chest pain is gone.
